Hilton Head 2010

Our family was lucky enough to be able to enjoy a wonderful week at Hilton Head Island last week! We usually go over the 4th of July week, but this year we decided to try Memorial Day week instead - it was the best move ever! The beaches and roads were less crowded, the drive down and back was easier, and the weather was perfect! The above picture is the view we had from our balcony. The pelicans below were constantly flying back and forth overhead, like there was a bird flight pattern right above our condo!



The boys took to the pool right away, and would have spent the entire week there had we let them...

For fun one night, we took the kids to a putt-putt course, which was a huge hit. It was really neat, waterfalls and great scenery!

When Owen putted, he would end up just pushing the ball to the hole using his club! We didn't penalize him for it - he was the only one in the group who shot a hole-in-one on one hole!

Hilton Head 2010 - Savannah Trip

Joe and I were lucky enough to have the opportunity to take a day trip to Savannah, via a 70-minute boat ride! The city was just beautiful, we would love to go back again sometime and have a couple days to explore! We only had a few hours, and it was just enough to scratch the surface! Below is the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist - by far the most exquisite church I've ever been in!
This is a fountain that was apparently in the movie, "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" (I haven't seen it)
And I have no idea of the story with this fountain, but it made for a nice picture!

Hilton Head 2010 - Beach, Lighthouse and Marley's

You can't go on a beach vacation and NOT take beach pictures! So we headed out one evening, and told the boys we were going "critter hunting". Seeing as how it was 7:00PM, we didn't find any critters, but we did have a nice walk! (Until we got about 1/4 mi. away and Dillon said he had to go potty! Daddy took him up to the dunes to try to find a private place to do his business (there were no public potties to be found), and then Dillon told Daddy, "No, I have to go poop!" So, that was the end of that leisurely stroll- back to the condo we went!






We made the trek up the 114 steps of the Harbortown Lighthouse - Dillon was the first one up (now I TOTALLY get why people always ask, "Don't you wish you had their energy?") The view was incredible - way better than I expected it to be, because it really didn't seem like that tall of a lighthouse.

Our last night on the island, the whole family went out to Marley's Island Grille for dinner. The food was great, and the company was even better - what a great way to wrap up our trip!


Do we have to come home??? We're already looking forward to doing it all over again next year!
