Trick or Treat!!!

The big night was finally here - Dillon got geared up in his Mickey Mouse costume while Owen stayed at home with Grammy (thank you, Grammy!). Off we went to the Bautsch's house to head out for trick or treat. The Bautsch kids were Wizard of Oz themed this year - Cole as the Tin Man, Avery as a blond Dorothy, and Emerson was the cutest little scarecrow there ever was! (I'll post a picture once I get a copy!).

I was mostly filming with the DVD recorder, so I only managed to get a few shots and one movie clip...

Boo at the Zoo

Despite the rain in the beginning, the night actually turned out to be pretty nice. The animals were out because it was evening (and cool - about 60 deg.), so we were able to see more than usual. Dillon had a blast in his costume, and Owen enjoyed it for the first 15 min. or so, then conked out after downing a nice warm bottle...

Here's Mickey checking out the goats at the petting zoo:
Dumbo calling it a night...
And Mickey heading home after collecting some yummy candies...
Finally, a short video (mainly for Daddy to see - nothing too special)...

Fall Frolic

Marysville has an annual "party" uptown every year where people (kids, mostly) get dressed up and trick-or-treat at the local businesses. There was a DJ, and a little train ride for the kids, along with some other small-town things. I took the boys there tonight, so Dillon can practice trick-or-treating - this will be his first year going out... He was hesitant at first, but once he figured out how it worked, he was all smiles and giggles - we can't wait for the 31st!

Just Clowning Around...

Although the boys are going to be Disney characters for Halloween, we decided to put this clown wig on them for fun. I guess we have a backup costume if necessary!!!

Pumpkin Farm

What a beautiful day we had to go to the pumpkin farm this year - sunny and 70, you couldn't ask for a nicer day. Dillon was in heaven with all the "punkins", and Owen was just pretty much along for the ride. All in all, it was a very nice time...

Brotherly Love

Dillon still isn't as loving and protective of his baby brother as most older sisters seem to be, but he's starting to come around. Owen loves playing with his big brother, too - he already seems to look up to him! Here are some cute shots from last night...

Owen's a Shark, Dillon's a Nut!!!

Just like it happened with Dillon, Owen is getting a mouthful of teeth all at once. I lost track of what days he got what, but all I know is at this point he has 6 that are through, and one more that is visible. No wonder he was been such a bear last week! (This picture was taken after he felt better, obviously!)

Earlier this week, Grammy gave the boys matching pjs, which are really cute! Here they are, each enjoying their favorite thing - Dillon with his cars, and Owen with his bottle...
Dillon has been having a ball lately collecting and peeling nuts - first we collected a bunch of hickory nuts from a couple of trees in our front yard, and yesterday he and Paw Paw collected buckeyes from their neighbor's yard.

WSU Reunion Party

Joe and I hosted our annual college reunion party for all of our friends last weekend. This time was quite a bit different from previous years' parties, because everyone has kids now! I think we were actually almost outnumbered! We had a really nice time seeing and visiting with everyone, and can't wait to do it again! This first picture is Henry Schumm, Grant Dine, Owen, and Kate Poeppleman - check out our fat kid...

This picture is cute because all the daddies were in the family room feeding their babies at the same time -
The only picture I managed to capture on my camera was Nikki and her son, Cameron - then the camera decided to quit working, so if anyone else has pics, please send them to me!!!

Latest Happenings...

Wow, has it really been over two weeks since my last post??? Sorry about that...

New happenings - Marysville had a "festival" downtown a couple weekends ago that also had an open house at the fire station. Seeing as how Dillon loves his trucks, including firetrucks, we thought he would enjoy it. Wrong! He was scared to death of them when he realized how big they are in real life! He eventually calmed down and I think had a good time.Owen has his third tooth now - the upper right central one - and is a real bear for about 3 days before they break through. The fourth one isn't far behind, so I'm bracing myself...
Dillon ate his entire plate of dinner one day last week - that was quite an accomplishment! I was so proud, I had to take a picture to document the occasion...

And of course, Owen wanted me to snap his picture, too - he ate all of his dinner, too (shocker!)...

Last bit of an update - apparently sickness is going around kids and dogs lately, because I've heard of so many kids being sick this past week. Dillon was sick for the first time ever yesterday evening - he was completely fine the whole day, we went on a bike ride after dinner (of which he didn't eat a thing), and when we were getting ready for a bath, he barfed all over the stairs. Luckily, Joe is well aware of my throw-up aversion and graciously cleaned up the mess while I cleaned up Dillon. It happened again at 1AM, but other than that, he has been okay. I have to give Joe credit, he really helps out in situations like that. He even slept in Dillon's room on the floor last night, so D didn't have to be alone in the bedroom - what a Dad!!!

Weekend at Poppy's

Dillon got to spend a couple days at Grammy and Poppy's house, and had a blast. Poppy let him sit up on his workbench and play - he had a ball putting washers on a "fritter" (D's pronunciation of "screwdriver", don't ask me how), and playing with the measuring tapes!
