Zoo Days!

The summer is here, and it is time for the zoo again! Dillon is enrolled in the Columbus Zoo's "Zoo Kids" program, and yesterday was the first day. It's basically a preschool, except that it is all about animals, one day a week for 3 hrs. When we got there, we were pleasantly surprised to see Dillon's real preschool teacher, Mrs. Deb, was one of the teachers of this class! It definitely helped him feel more at ease...
All the kids got t-shirts (which are about 5 sized too big!), so he went over to pick his out. The classroom was nice and bright, with the walls covered in paintings of animals (although this picture is a bit dark).
After we dropped Dillon off, it was off to check out the new baby elephant!

We were able to get very close to the larger elephants in the outdoor exhibit, too!
And I love the kangaroo exhibit, because you actually walk IN to it, there are no fences or glass to get in between you and these amazing animals. (Sorry for the angle of this shot, there wasn't much I could do about it!)
It was a great morning, and if anyone is local to the Columbus area, and has 3-5 year-old kids, I already recommend this program!
